About the artist..

From a very young age, Chrisel van der Merwe was discovered as a rare talent. She regularly won national art competitions and amongst others started painting portraits of famous leaders of South Africa. These works are seen in ministerial offices as well as abroad. She is currently still at the University of Pretoria in 2013.

Chrisél explains: "What life offers to every artist is inspiration. I take in as much of it as possible and then give it back with gratitude and satisfaction to the best of my ability."
