Derek Jacobs' paintings are inspired by his enchantment with lighting effects in nature, and his passion for the environment. He lives in Simon's Town with his wife Hilary, and a 180 degree view of ever-changing False Bay.

Derek is a qualified architect as well as a sailing enthusiast, he has spent many years sailing abroad with Hilary, through the South Atlantic, Americas, East Africa as well as parts of Asia. The visual wonders of atmosphere of his journeys were beautifully captured by Derek in pen and ink.
