School meals

There are children in the world who can't get enough food or clean water to survive. And there are other children who likely become obese, which will make them prone to a range of diseases later on in life. In both cases, having at least one guaranteed healthy meal a day at school can be the key to a healthy future.

We're working with schools and school caterers to make healthy eating practical, affordable – and part of everyday life.

Thailand

In Thailand, school lunch is a major part of children’s diets. So we’ve teamed up with schools in Thailand to launch the Thai School Bus project. It delivers training in nutrition and cooking skills to primary school teachers and chefs. And helps them come up with menus that will fit their budget, nutritional guidelines and look appealing to kids.

United Kingdom

In the UK, one in three 11 year olds is overweight or obese. Many packed lunches are filled with unhealthy food. More kids are spending their lunch money on chips and takeaways than school lunches. And strict guidelines and rising food costs are making school canteens more expensive to run.

That's why we've launched Eatz4U, a programme that helps school caterers deliver healthy, appealing and affordable school meals in line with government guidelines and their skill level.
