Executive Chef Sandton Convention Centre
After completing my studies at Tecknikon Witwatersrand in Braamfontein in the 90s, I started my culinary career working under the late Walter Ulz at Linger Longer restaurant as demi chef de parte. I then had the opportunity to travel and work in places such as France (Hilton), Berlin (intercontinental) and for the SA government Embassy in Guinea, & the Democratic Republic of Congo Singapore & Thailand. It was in Berlin that I was given another amazing opportunity to work in a Michelin-starred restaurant (Hugo’s). I then came back to South African to work with the Southern Sun group for over seven years, and is still going strong. I work at Sandton Sun Hotel as an Executive chef looking after the Sandton Convention Centre.
I currently am President at the South African Chef Association (SA Chefs). Part of my portfolio is to be involved with Competition Judging as a Convener, Head judge as well as Coach to other aspirant Judges (conducting the Judging seminars). I have since judged numerous SA Chefs accredited Competitions through the years and recently acquired a level B World Chefs (World Chef Associates Society) judging certificate.
