Preparation

  1. Step 1:

    • Pre-heat the oven to 160 °C. Finely chop the onion and parsley. Mix together onions, parsley, beef mince, 100g Knorr professional tomato pronto, 2 eggs and 20g Robertsons BBQ Spice and roll into the same size meatballs. Average weight 40 g to 45 g. Bake the meatballs in a greased tray in the oven for 15 min, remove and set aside to cool.
  2. Step 2:

    • Add 500g Knorr tomato pronto, 10g Robertsons veggie seasoning, 2g Robertsons mixed herbs, sugar in an electric mixer and blitz until smooth to make the tomato sauce.
  3. Step 3:

    • Grate cheeses and combine with 5g Robertson Veggie Seasoning.
    • Cut hot dog rolls halfway through from the top.
    • To assemble the meatball subs: layer the cut roll with the cheese mix, 3 meatballs, top with tomato sauce, then end with another layer of cheese mix and bake for 10 min or until the cheese has melted. Remove from the oven, package and serve.

  4. Hint:

    • Save time by pre-cooking your meatballs.
  5. Chef's Tip:

    • Replace the beef mince with chicken, pork or ostrich mince.
