Preparation

  1. Samp

    1. Wash samp and add to a pot of boiling water. Simmer for 30 min (there should be a little water remaining in the pot).
    2. Once samp is soft, add butter, fresh cream and Knorr Professional White Sauce Base and simmer for 2 min until slightly thick. Remove from stove.
  2. Beef Stew

    1. Marinade the beef in Robertsons Barbecue Spice and set aside for 10 min.
    2. Heat oil in a pot and fry meat until brown. Remove from the pot and set aside.
    3. In the same pot, fry onions, celery and garlic for 5 min or slightly golden brown, add Knorr Professional Tomato Pronto and fry for a few minutes.
    4. Add 1L of water along with the fried beef to the pot and cover for about 30 min to 1hour.
    5. Add potatoes, carrots and butternut and simmer for a further 30 min with lid on. Remove lid to feel if meat is tender. If not, a few more minutes can be added to the cooking time.
    6. Mix Knorr Professional Brown Onion Soup and 500 ml water and pour into the stew to thicken. Simmer for 5 min. Season with Knorr Aromat Original and remove from stove once ready.
    7. Serve by placing samp on one side of the bowl, and the beef stew on the other side. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
  3. Recipe Tip

Knorr Professional Mushroom Sauce can be substituted for Knorr Professional White Sauce Base in the creamy samp.
