Preparation

  1. Beef Stew

    1. Marinade the beef in Robertsons Barbecue Spice and set aside for 10 min.
    2. Heat oil in a pot and fry meat until brown. Remove from the pot and set aside.
    3. In the same pot, fry onions, celery and garlic for 5 min or slightly golden brown, add Knorr Professional Tomato Pronto and fry for a few minutes.
    4. Add 1L of water along with the fried beef to the pot and cover for about 30 min to 1hour.
    5. Add potatoes, carrots and butternut and simmer for a further 30 min with lid on. Remove lid to feel if meat is tender. If not, a few more minutes can be added to the cooking time.
    6. Mix Knorr Professional Brown Onion Soup and 500 ml water and pour into the stew to thicken. Simmer for 5 min. Season with Knorr Aromat Original and remove from stove once ready. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
  2. Steamed bread

    1. In a medium size bowl, add cake flour, instant yeast, sugar, Robertsons Veggie Seasoning, oil and Robertsons Turmeric and salt, mix together.
    2. Slowly add the water while mixing until a slightly runny, almost sticky dough is formed.
    3. Grease your bread tin or any mould you’re using with oil.
    4. Add all the dough to the tin. Cover with plastic wrap around the top, almost sealing the dough. Cover with a damp towel and place near a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled in size
    5. Once proofed, remove the plastic wrap, tap the tin down to deflate the dough slightly and steam on the stove, in a pot of hot water with a metal dish at the bottom and a rack to hold the tin.
    6. Steam for 45 min to 1 hour with the lid on. To test doneness, skewer should come out clean when poked into the bread.
  3. Recipe Tip

Knorr Professional Brown Onion Soup can be substituted with Knorr Professional Hearty Beef Soup for a meatier, richer flavour.
